Arrow Fastener was founded by Morris Abrams in Brooklyn, New York, in 1929. The company began with staples before Abrams moved into tool design, securing a stapler patent by 1940 and building a manufacturing business around easier mechanical fastening.

The T50 heavy-duty staple gun arrived in the early 1950s and became Arrow's defining product. The company reports more than 40 million units sold, while later decades expanded the range into glue guns, riveters, brad nailers and related supplies.

Arrow joined GreatStar in 2017 and began trading as Arrow Tool Group in 2025. The range now covers manual, electric, cordless and pneumatic stapling and nailing, together with hammer tackers, hot-melt tools, riveters, grommet tools and matching consumables.
