RoboLights is a British manufacturer of specialist electrical equipment for theatres and live-entertainment venues. Established in 1989, the business began by developing stage-lighting products informed by hands-on industry experience, including an updated colour scroller designed to solve practical problems encountered in production environments.

Product-led problem solving has remained part of the company’s identity. RoboLights developed the prototype for its Smart Socket in 1999, a modular connection product that became a longstanding core line, and later created the Smart Clamp, which received the Association of British Theatre Technicians’ Widget of the Year award in 2007.

Since moving into its own Exeter premises in 2012, RoboLights has expanded its ability to design and manufacture standard and custom equipment for large-scale projects. Electrical engineering and metal fabrication are carried out substantially in house, supported where appropriate by established local suppliers and continued investment in production machinery.
