KNIPEX began in 1882 when Carl Gustav Putsch founded a small pliers smithy in Cronenberg, now part of Wuppertal, Germany. Working with a journeyman and two apprentices, the workshop initially forged pincers for carpenters and farriers.

The KNIPEX name was registered in 1942 as the business developed from a family workshop into an industrial specialist. Later milestones include Alligator water-pump pliers in 1973, Cobra pliers in 1984, the compact CoBolt cutter in 1988 and the parallel-jaw Pliers Wrench in 1994.

The company maintains a deliberate focus on pliers and the manufacturing precision needed for reliable gripping, cutting and forming. Its range covers combination, long-nose, water-pump and circlip pliers, cutters, cable tools, stripping and crimping products, insulated tools and specialist installation solutions.

Power-Hub carries KNIPEX across electrical, plumbing, automotive and general hand-tool categories. The live ranking below shows the strongest areas of the current catalogue, with five featured products offering a practical introduction.
