Libéron’s story began in Paris in 1912, in a district associated with craftspeople and decorative trades. Georges Libéron took over a manufacturer of materials for wood painters and gilders and established a shop at 163 rue Saint-Denis.

Its early customers were professional gilders, cabinetmakers and craftspeople responsible for fine furniture and interior surfaces. Georges Libéron and Paul Chotard then expanded the business into furniture maintenance, developing products suitable for a wider domestic audience.

The modern range carries that restoration heritage into waxes, oils, varnishes, dyes, fillers, cleaners and decorative finishes. Product choice allows users to clean, repair, colour, nourish and protect wood while selecting a finish appropriate to traditional furniture or contemporary interiors.
