Norbar originated in Banbury during the Second World War, when William “Bill” Brodey and Ernest Thornitt secured permission to manufacture torque wrenches in Britain. Accurate tightening was vital to the gasket-less cylinder heads used on Rolls-Royce Merlin aero engines, creating the immediate engineering need.

The North Bar Tool Company was incorporated in 1943 and became the first British commercial manufacturer of torque wrenches. Continued development expanded its work from mechanical tightening tools into torque measurement, electronic instruments, calibration and controlled bolting systems.

Norbar now specialises exclusively in torque tools and associated measurement, serving applications from workshops to aerospace, energy and heavy industry. Drive size, torque range, accuracy, calibration requirement, fastener access, duty cycle and whether results must be recorded all shape product choice.

Power-Hub carries Norbar across torque wrenches, multipliers, testing and bolting categories. The live ranking below will identify the strongest parts of the current selection, followed by five relevant products from the store.
