SCANGRIP began in 1906 with Valdemar Jensen's small blacksmith workshop on the Danish island of Tåsinge. The business grew into a tool manufacturer and became known internationally for its blue, one-hand-operated locking pliers.

After Anders Borring acquired the company in 1993, attention turned to the inadequate fluorescent inspection lamps then used in automotive workshops. That practical problem prompted a shift towards more durable, flexible professional lighting and ultimately made LED work lights the centre of the SCANGRIP range.

The current portfolio spans handheld inspection lamps, head torches, floodlights, tripod systems and specialist colour-matching lights.
